academictranslate.com (the "Site", the "Service") is operated by Esref Erdogan ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use the Service, how we process it, and what rights you have.

2.1 Documents You Upload
- The PDF files you upload for translation, and everything contained in them (text, images, and any personal data embedded in the document, such as author names or institutional affiliations).
- Retention period: Uploaded files and processing outputs are automatically deleted from our servers no later than 24 hours after upload. We recommend downloading your translated file within this window.
2.2 Account Data
- Email address
- Credit balance and purchase/transaction history
- Device- or IP-based technical identifiers used to prevent abuse of the free trial
This data is kept for as long as your account is active. See Section 6 for how to request deletion.
2.3 Usage and Analytics Data
- Page views, click behavior, device and browser information, collected via Microsoft Clarity and our own internal analytics.
- Used to improve the product and understand usage patterns.
2.4 Payment Information
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy). We never see or store your card details.
3. Who We Share Your Data With
To provide the Service, your document content and/or limited technical data is sent to the following third-party providers:

Important: We never use your documents for human review, model training, or advertising purposes. Content is only sent to automated systems for the purpose of performing the translation.
4. Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics purposes (Microsoft Clarity). You can set your cookie preference on your first visit.
5. Data Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of internet transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location (under KVKK / GDPR), you may have the right to:
- Learn what data of yours is being processed
- Request correction or deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to the processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data (data portability)

7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. International Data Transfers
Because our users are located worldwide, your data may be transferred to the countries where our servers or service providers are located (e.g., Germany/EU, the United States). These transfers are carried out with the safeguards required by applicable law, including GDPR where relevant.
