Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the relationship between academictranslate.com (the "Site", the "Service"), provided by Esref Erdogan ("we", "us", "Service Provider"), and the person using the Service ("you", "User"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of the Service
The Service allows users to upload PDF documents and have them automatically translated into another language using AI-powered tools, while preserving the original page layout ("layout-preserving translation").
2. User Obligations and Representations
By using the Service, you represent and agree that:
- Right to upload: You have the right to translate, process, and share the document you upload with third-party services for this purpose; the document does not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Prohibited content: You will not upload files that are illegal, infringe copyright, violate someone else's privacy, or contain malicious software.
- Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these obligations.
3. Copyright and Disclaimer
- The Service Provider does not review the content of uploaded documents and is not responsible for the copyright status of content uploaded by users.
- If we receive a valid copyright infringement notice (takedown request), we may remove access to the relevant content within a reasonable time. Send notices to: support@academictranslate.com
4. Translation Accuracy — Important Disclaimer
The Service uses AI-based automated translation, and its output may not be 100% accurate.
- Translations must be reviewed by a qualified human before being used for official, legal, medical, academic-publication, or decision-making purposes.
- The Service Provider is not liable for translation errors, omissions, or any damages resulting from decisions made based on such errors.
- The Service is provided "as is," with no guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider's total liability arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data or profits).
6. Pricing and Refunds
- The Service uses a credit/subscription-based pricing model, published on the Site and subject to change without prior notice (previously purchased credits are not affected by price changes).
- Payments are processed through our third-party payment provider (Lemon Squeezy).
- Refund window: You may request a refund within 14 days of your purchase. Refunds are issued only for the unused portion of your credit balance at the time of the request — credits already consumed for completed translations are non-refundable, as that portion of the service has already been delivered. No refunds will be issued for requests made after the 14-day window.
- To request a refund, email support@academictranslate.com with your account email and order details. Approved refunds are processed via Lemon Squeezy and may take several business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
7. Intellectual Property
The design, software, and branding of the Site belong to the Service Provider. You retain ownership of the documents you upload and the resulting translation output; the Service Provider claims no rights over this content beyond what is needed to perform the translation service.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul, Turkey.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Site.
