Layout Preserving PDF Translation — Academic Translate
Translate scientific PDFs, academic research papers, and documents with advanced layout and mathematical formula preservation.
How does layout-preserving PDF translation work?
Academic Translate uses deep learning computer vision (a dedicated layout parser) to isolate text bounding boxes while keeping mathematical equations ($...$), vector diagrams, and two-column structures in place, setting the translated text back at the original positions.
How is Academic Translate different from a general-purpose translator?
General-purpose translators such as DeepL and Google Translate are built for text and documents of every kind. Academic Translate is built for one kind of file: PDFs of papers, theses and textbooks, where two-column layouts, equations, tables and figure captions have to stay in place. Translate one hard page with each tool and compare.
Can I export the translated document to Overleaf / LaTeX .tex?
Yes. Every translation produces a complete Overleaf .zip bundle containing ready-to-compile .tex source files and all cropped figures.
